Windows 10 and Windows 11; What is the Difference?

Windows 10 and Windows 11; What is the Difference?

Microsoft will continue to support Windows 10 through Oct. 14, 2025. However, it is unclear how many Windows 10 updates Microsoft will roll out during that time.To help you decide if upgrading is right for you, here are some of the differences between Windows 11 and Windows 10.

Design
Windows 11's appearance is more like a Mac, with rounded corners for windows, buttons and other UI elements giving the interface a softer and simpler appearance look. Windows 10 featured sharp and squared corners.

Start Menu
Microsoft has moved the task bar from the left as it was in Windows 10 to the center in Windows 11. However, users can still customize and move the taskbar to the left.

Snap Layouts
Another Microsoft Windows 11 feature is the snap layouts which lets the user organize their apps by grouping them together according to their use, like how users group apps on iOS and Android.

Microsoft Store
Microsoft has redesigned Microsoft in Windows 11 making it easier for users to access movies and apps. It will allow users to download apps found in Windows 10 and Windows 11. The Microsoft Store app will be available to Windows 10 and 11 users.

Android Apps
Microsoft included apps that are on the Amazon App Store. By bringing Android apps to Windows 11, Microsoft is slowly meeting the user demands to run smartphone apps on their desktops.

Teams
Microsoft replaced Windows 10 Meet Now Feature which was mainly powered by Skype. With the integration of Microsoft Teams into the taskbar, it has made it easy to access the communication platform.

Touch mode
Microsoft removed the tablet mode from Windows 10 from Windows 11. The tablet mode in Windows 11 makes the users' PCs more touch-friendly when they use devices such as tablets. Windows 11 acts more like an iPad in such a way that when users switch their PCs to tablet mode, they receive an experience that is mainly customized for touch.

Virtual Desktops
Although Windows 10 had the task view feature that allowed users to create multiple virtual desktops, they were still limited. Windows 11 users have the advantage of setting up virtual desktops like they do Macs.

Gaming Upgrades
The PC gaming also improved with Windows 11 with the Direct Storage Feature which streamlines how game data is processed. HDR will also be available in the Windows 11, so the colors have improved

Performance Improvements
The windows 11 has more speed compared to the windows 10. Windows Hello, a new feature in Windows 11 is a biometric based tech that ensures faster logins, lets users secure access to their device, networks and apps with facial recognition and fingerprints. Windows 11 also has faster web browsing and a faster wake from sleep.
